Newly-appointed Teton Valley News Publisher Scott Anderson says he plans to jump right in and get to know the community.

Anderson spent his first day on the job Wednesday working with outgoing Publisher Stacy Simonet for a smooth transition before she and her family relocate to the Idaho Falls area.

“I love small towns, and I'm really excited to be a big part of the community,” Anderson said. “I really want to become embedded in the community.”

“Scott is the perfect addition to Pioneer Newspapers and the Teton Valley,” Pioneer Newspapers Chief Operations Officer Mark Cohen said Tuesday. “We know that Scott will be an asset to the community as publisher of the valley’s leading newspaper.”

Anderson, a Utah native and father of four, graduated from Weber State University in 2003 with a BS in technical sales. He started his newspaper career at the Daily Herald in Provo, Utah, and held five different positions during his tenure there, most recently heading up the Online department.
